How to Do a Self-Exam
1. In the Mirror
Stand straight with your shoulders back and arms on your hips. Look for any changes in size, shape, or skin (like dimpling, redness, or rash).
Raise your arms and check again.
Look for signs like fluid coming from the nipples (watery, milky, yellow, or blood).
2. Lying Down
Place a pillow under your right shoulder and put your right arm behind your head.
Use the pads of your left hand to feel your right breast in small circular motions, covering the entire area from top to bottom, side to side.
Use light, medium, and firm pressure to feel all the breast tissue.
Repeat the same steps for the left breast.
3. In the Shower
With your hand behind your head, glide your fingers over your breast using soap and water. It’s easier to feel lumps when the skin is slippery.
Check both breasts and underarms
