Who We Are

About Us

We are part of a global movement.
Eric Cancer Initiative Uganda is a chapter of the Early Recognition Is Critical (E.R.I.C) family — a worldwide initiative inspired by the real-life story of Eric, a young boy who survived cancer because it was recognized and treated early. His survival became a message of hope: when cancer is recognized early, lives can be saved.

We are a registered foreign NGO (MIA/NB/2024/09/6455), operating across Uganda, with our head office in Mukono District above Bank of Baroda in Mukono Town.

Our Story in Uganda:
ERIC Cancer Initiative Uganda was founded in October 2022, beginning in Mukono District after a situational analysis with the District Health Officer revealed a high need for breast cancer awareness. In our very first outreach, 37 women presented with breast symptoms, sought care early, and were treated for benign conditions. That moment confirmed our calling: awareness works, and early recognition saves lives.

Where we’ve reached:
Since then, we have grown into a nationwide presence, extending our work to communities in Wakiso, Kampala, Gulu, Arua, Mbale, and Jinja. In each of these districts, we continue to provide education, screenings, and follow-up support — touching the lives of women and girls in their reproductive ages, and their families.
